NEW YORK (AP) -- Federal agents have recovered a portrayal by Swiss artist Paul Klee (KLAY") that was stolen from a New York City art art studio in 1989.

The agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement recovered the portrayal by the neo-impressionist from a Montreal gallery.

The portrayal is called "Portrait in the Garden" and is from 1930. It was stolen from the Marlborough Gallery in New York in 1989.

The Montreal art studio owners incited the portrayal over to the U.S. agents after someone attempted to sell it to him and he detected it had been stolen.

It was returned to a tellurian art loss database on Wednesday.
